Founded in 1903, the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University is a large Grade-A tertiary hospital and the host institution of the Guangzhou Institute of Respiratory Health and the National Center for Respiratory Medicine. Its Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine Department has ranked first nationally in the Fudan version of the China Hospital Rankings for many consecutive years, and the hospital is internationally advanced in chronic airway diseases, respiratory infections, early diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer, and interventional pulmonology.
